KMT Precision Grinding is pleased to provide this quarterly newsletter highlighting some of the current steps that we are taking to enhance customer service and product offerings. This quarter we address our new organization, a project of interest, personnel changes, and overview of our 24 hour service availability.
All Service Is Local: Our Organization
Effective January, 2008, the following brands have been positioned under one umbrella and local points of contact for all of our global customers. Under the KMT Precision Grinding product offering are brands:
· Lidköping
· UVA
· Cincinnati
These brands will be sold and serviced from our various locations throughout the world, including Sweden, Germany, India, China, and USA. Our specific contact information, depending on brand and locale, can be accessed through www.kmtgrinding.com.
Rebuild and Service Update
This section features a unique project, or other offering, that highlights the full complement of services that KMT Precision Grinding offers. This quarter, we feature our USA operation in Cincinnati, OH.
KMT Cincinnati is completing the Redesign and Remanufacture of a massive No. 5 Centerless Grinder. The machine, originally built by Cincinnati Milacron is of slant bed, wide wheel design for grinding large diameter bearings, and similar components. The maximum outside diameter capacity of the machine is 12 inches.
The KMT Cincinnati Remanufacture includes:
· Slide conversion including integration of new preloaded linear guide ways, and ball screw/servomotor drive.
· GE Fanuc 21i CNC Control
· Heavy-duty Power Roller Race Grinding Fixture, for large diameter bearing races.
· 100 HP grinding spindle, driving 36” wide grinding wheel
· Electronic grinding wheel balancing
KMT Cincinnati has broad experience in rebuilding, remanufacturing, redesigning, and upgrading machines originally manufactured by Cincinnati Milacron, including Centerless, Micro-Centric, and Center-Type Plunge Grinders.
The team in Cincinnati is comprised of many former Cincinnati Milacron engineers and technicians who are most familiar with the OEM designs, and their strengths and weaknesses. Service Expansion in India
KMT PMI India is pleased to announce the addition of two service engineers to their team. Both have extensive backgrounds in electronics and electrical/mechanical components and assemblies. Both will be located in close proximity to industrial areas in Western India, assuring our customers fast response for service on equipment manufactured by KMT and other machine tool builders.
