Pivoting Spindle Holder

Spindle holders for various applications are available. In addition to conventional fixed spindle holders for one or two spindles there is also the Pivoting Spindle Holder (PSH) which automatically compensates for the bending of the quill.

The quill bends during rough grinding of long and small bores. As a result only the inner part of the grinding wheel is acting. This causes uneven grinding wheel wear, which equals poor bore straightness, cylindricity and taper.

The negative effects are eliminated by the pivoting spindle holder (PSH), which keeps the grinding wheel aligned with the bore throughout the process.
